You know what it takes to feel fit.
Eat right. Don't smoke. Don't drink (too much). Get enough sleep.
And you need to exercise. My doctor says I need 150 minutes a week with my blood pumping at 150% of my resting heart rate. That's not hard to do. But it takes time and effort. (That's the hard part.)
Cold truth: we probably won't feel fit — or stay fit — if we don't work on it.
Fitness isn't a goal. It's a lifestyle.
Creativity is similar.
To be more creative, you must work on getting — and staying — creatively fit.
You need a plan. And you must implement it.
You need to get to 150% of your resting creativity rate for 150 minutes a week. Again, that's not hard to do. But it takes time and effort. (That's the hard part.)
Not working on your creative development and expecting a spontaneous moment of creativity is like not working out and expecting a spontaneous moment of fitness.
You might be thinking: "I'm not creative." Or: "We're not creative."
If so, let me ask: How hard are you trying?
What do you need to start?
A personal plan for continuing creative development? A creativity trainer and facilitator for your team? Executive coaching for your career and life?
I'm here for you. I care.
