That's very inspiring! Your mom sounds like a terrific person.

Thanks, Artie.

As Dr. Jonas Salk has been quoted:
"The greatest reward for doing
is the opportunity to do more."

Good Luck, Jackie!

What a role model your mother is, Artie. I'm lucky she's my mama, too!! Helping people who are less fortunate with compassion and understanding is a precious gift. Thanks, Mom, for setting a great example.

Amazing Rando

Yo Mama's so philanthropic she thinks that doughnuts are crazy people that give a lot of dough (cash) to charity! ;)

My mother worked with the mentally challenged for over 23 years here in Pennsylvania. She loved the work and loved helping each and every one of her clients. The day the facility was closed I remember her coming home in tears, concerned about what was going to happen to each of them.

It takes a special person to do that kind of work, and I give kudos to your original mothership for her work. :)

And to leave you with a laugh, nearly every time my mom had to break up a fight between us siblings she would tell us about how she went to work every day with the mentally challenged and how that prepared her to deal with us!
